Sarkis's fingerprints combine with those of anonymous visitors. There are times when technical contraints result in unexpected enrichments of the artist's design. Here, for example, Sarkis wanted to work on both sides of the glass. However, one of the sides is resistant to yellow stain. Hence the idea of binding a second pane of glass to the first, thus producing a safety layer that allowed for real formal feats in the cutting that would not otherwise have been possible. The increased thickness gave the glass a new lightness.
